Name: Ariana Country: United States State: Washington Metro: Vancouver Birthday: 10/5/1988 Gender: Female
Interests: Dance, Eating, Singing in the car, Babysitting, Hanging out with friends, listening to music...... Expertise: Women are like apples on trees: the best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy....... So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along - the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
Ok so that's not an expertise but a friend gave it to me and I think its beautiful and the total truth!

| So I haven't been here in awhile.... I feel bad. Haha well I guess I should catch everyone up-
-Allen and I are no longer together
-The musical is a month away
-I'm thinking about Nanny School for college
-I don't have a prom date
-I don't think I'm going to get one, and I have a dress
So yeah that is basically it!
I hope everyone is doing great.
And it's Spring Break, so we should chill!

| Pretty interesting....
To say the least! Haha this week has been a tough one. Lot's of stuff going on in my life. Such as-
1) Stupid drama 2) Musical auditions/rehearsals 3) Being betrayed by someone very close 4) Being humped by a monkey at Fort's 5 One Act plays last night 5) Almost dying in my sleep last night 6) Stress in general 7) Health problems 8) Parentals freaking out for stupid things 9) Being confronted in musical and told I was dancing wrong by someone who has no right to talk (haha) 10) Being hit on in theater (ew)
Well I think 10 should do it! Haha if you are confused about any of the above and think you are a part of it, just ask. I will explain if I have to. Lol so anyway-
I was kinda bummed about auditions, I didn't get to read for all the parts I wanted to try out for, but oh well. I'm sure I will just end up with 2 background dancing parts. I will try to be happy with that... lol ....
Oh but dance is getting so awesome! We are starting many new exciting styles. Like- break dance, krumping, foot-work, and poses. Omg it is so gangsta! But I definitely have bruises to show for it!
So yeah... I think I just needed to get the week written (or typed, whatever) out so I could just relax. Because I'm exhausted!

But anyway-

| THE TRUTH ABOUT DANCERS.
1. We have very little or no modesty. 2. When standing around waiting, we must stretch something, be it a calf muscle, a thigh, or something else, it's an instinct. 3. If something falls on the floor, we either bend over at the waist to pick it up, do a ponche, or we grab it with our toes. 4. When we have a long strip of open floor, we are yearning to do something across it, but we are afraid we might get looks. 5. We really would rather be dancing. 6. Marking a dance isn't any fun. 7. We eat more than any normal person, and we don't gain any weight. 8. Outside of dance we are actually very clumsy, and accident- prone. 9. We are always popping every possible joint in our body. 10. If we try to pop something and fail, it's depressing. 11. If we hear a song that we've danced to, we have to do a part of that dance, no matter who's watching. 12. If there's something we excel in, we have to show it off (i.e. turning, jumping, turn out etc) 13. No where else but in a dance studio do you see people taking off clothing and no one else batting an eye. 14. If we get hurt, we lie and say we're not. We have a very high tolerance for pain. (especially during a show) 15. It's not uncommon to have off-days. 16. "Off-days" are the worst days we could possibly have. 17. If we fall, must make it look like it was on purpose. AND we have to end in the most beautiful position possible. 18. If we do somehow hurt ourselves and can't do class, we feel as though we must at least sit in and soak up what we can. 19. We're willing to try anything once. 20. If we come close to doing something, we keep trying until we do it, and then it must be perfect. 21. It's not unusual to buy a CD with a song we danced to, just for that one song. 22. After doing 4 or 5 or 6 or whatever you consider to be an amazing amount of turns, you around and pray that someone saw you. 23. Usually no one sees. 24. If that rare time occurs that someone does see, they become you're new hero and best friend. 25. We always count turns. No matter who's doing them. 26. It's insanely aggravating when we forget to count and we feel like we've done more than normal. 27. We find rhythm in everything! Music, hammering, turn signals, walking, everything, and anything. 28. People who come to class to socialize make the rest of us who are working our hardest really mad. 29. We can't count higher than eight. 30. We really don't like highschool cheerleaders who think they are dancers. 31. Nothing is worse than working your butt off in a performance, you get out for a curtain call, and the audience gives you a pretty good response. Then a child comes out who did nothing but look cute and they blow the roof off the place. At this point we wonder, "How many rows could I kick that kid?" 32. When someone falls down in class, and doesn't get hurt, it's funny. When someone falls down during a performance in a dance that's not yours, it's funny. When someone falls down during a performance that is your dance, it's not funny. 33. Watching a performance with a non-dancer is not fun, everything you point out falls on deaf ears, "Ew, she's sickling her foot. Did you see how many turns she just did? ...or even... She totally just missed all those sounds." 34. It's not uncommon for a dancer to scream when watching a video of a really good dancer doing something incredible. 35. There's always someone better than us. 36. We always whine about how bad we are. Our legs are never long enough, our jumps are never high enough, we could always be more toned, on video we are always horrible, we could always be more flexible...etc..... 37. We want a clone so we can sit in the audience and see how bad we really are. 38. If on hard wood floor or linoleum while wearing socks, we must turn. 39. Leotard snaps are not only natural, they are utterly and completely necessary. 40. No matter how much your feet hurt, mine always hurt worse. 41. Blisters, raw skin, missing, warped, and ingrown toe nails are part of the game. 42. Dancers have the ugliest feet. 43. Girls with perfect bodies, who don't have to work for it, make us sick. 44. You can never have too many leotards or tights. 45. Breaking in new shoes is the worst. 46. We sit in a straddle stretch while watching tv or doing homework. 47. Our calf muscles are bigger than the guys on the football team. 48. Every handrail seems to magically transform into a ballet barre. 49. We have more dance clothes than regular clothes. 50. We arrange our rooms so we have the most wide open area possible. 51. We sleep with our legs turned out. 52. We know exactly where our psoas is even though we've never taken an anatomy class. 53. Those ballerina barbie's irritate us because their feet don't turn out, they can't bend their arms, and no one could possibly be that flexible. 54. Glitter will be forever embedded in our skin. 55. We are the only people outside of cross-dressers and prostitutes who wear false eyelashes. | | |
